Ongoing Robot Project.
I love robots! I wish I had an army of them to do my evil bidding. But as I don't I at least I can pretend using junk and my junkart-fu.
Robots are a great project to try as they often break the human form into basic shapes, and the shapes are everywhere. They can be easily recreated using tubes, balloons, balls and boxes. All are easy to paper mache. Throw a decent glue gun and some metallic paint into the mix and it all comes together!
This is an ongoing project thanks mainly to inspiration from cartoons and the Japanese, who seem to have invented a robot for everything. Besides, I want my robot army!
2009. My first large scale creation. She is made from junk, finished by paper mache and paint. She was inspired by Maria from Metropolis combined with more modern styles used by toy manufacturers and Japanese robot designs.
At night Lemon becomes a lamp thanks to a couple of LED lights installed in her head.
Before the paper mache and spraypaint. Just to show the junk I used to make her.
An early stage, before I reshaped Lemon's head. I decided it was too round, like an orange.
